About Marian Seiders
I am a retired Art Educator who taught Middle School for 26 years with a B.A. in Art History from Long Beach State University and a Fine Art Teaching Credential from Cal State Dominguez Hills. I have studied extensively under Craig Keith Antrim for painting and Michael DeMeng for assemblage. I have always pursued art outside of my job, but now I am lucky enough to be able to do it full time.
For me, you cannot separate my art from my life. It all goes together. It is playful and fun, a spiritual practice of sorts, and my psychiatrist!
Assemblage has been my favorite art form, though I started as a painter. In assemblage, you can take the detritus that is left over, discarded, or broken, and turn it into something interesting or beautiful. It is recycling, which helps the environment, but it also forces people to look at things differently. Things they thought were of no use or ugly, take on new life and surprise them.

Marian's Story
I tend to work with a lot of mixed media and experimentation with materials. But I also still love to paint in watercolor or acrylic. I also enjoy altering books, making the occasional foray into ceramics, and experimenting with many other art forms. My work is in many private collections and has been shown throughout the South Bay (California), as well as in Pasadena, Los Angeles, and now Fallbrook.
I currently teach classes in my home studio in beginning drawing, acrylic painting, and mixed media. I also do occasional workshops in the local area. I am currently a Guild member of the Fallbrook Art Center and a former member of the Los Angeles Assemblage Group and the California Art Education Association.
